You Say I

Filewile are back with a fresh take on their signature leftfield Pop song, this time round with less Dub and more Funk.
What starts off as a Folk song with a nod to Chinese movie scores, soon evolves into an electric Funk tune, reminiscent of Prince and George Clinton, with a sparse and groovy rhythm section. The strong groove is enhanced by the interplay of the beat with Joy Frempong’s rhythmic  vocals.

I:Cube se fait connaitre sur la scène underground française dès le milieu des années 1990, notamment par son remix de ‘Around The World’ des Daft Punk en 1996, qui lui rendent la politesse en remixant la même année l’un de ses titres, ‘Disco Cubizm’.
Il enchaine les sorties avec le label parisien Versatile et monte en parallèle le projet CHATEAU FLIGHT avec son compère  de toujours, Gilb-r.
Sa discographie est impréssionante : 4 albums, des dizaines de 12” et des remixes en pagaille pour Steve Bug, Telex, Femi Kuti etc.
I:Cube est une valeur sure internationale , digne représentant d’un son proche de celui de Détroit version parisienne.
Expect some deep electro, cosmic disco, house minimale…
